The build

A bespoke WordPress website with advanced SEO and AI visibility

A bespoke WordPress website built over four to six weeks, depending on the number of pages you need.

We start with your business goals and the clients you want more of. Then comes keyword and competitor research and a planned site structure, with advanced SEO built in from the first day, so the site is set up to be found in Google now and named in AI answers as search changes.

Transparent pricing and no hidden costs. Projects start at £4,800.

Ideal for

This is for you if:

  • You run an established business with more than seven pages to fill, and you want a site that looks premium and brings in better enquiries.
  • You have outgrown your current website. Perhaps it is a DIY site that no longer reflects where your business is, or a professionally built site that looks good but does nothing for your visibility on Google or in AI search.
  • You are ready to invest in a website built on serious keyword research and competitor analysis, with advanced SEO and AI visibility designed in from the start.
  • SEO is part of every stage of the process, so you are not paying a web designer and then a separate SEO consultant on top.
  • Your website comes with my care and maintenance plan at £65 a month, which keeps it secure and up to date long after launch.

This is not for you if:

You have a single, simple service and seven pages or fewer. In that case, my Website in a Week service will do the job well for less.

Every project includes

Every website design project includes:

Strategy: we start with your business goals and the clients you want to reach

Design that converts: a clear structure and calls to action that make sense

Search optimisation: technical SEO and keyword research built in from day one

Pages you can update yourself, with support when you need it

You won’t be left on your own once the site goes live.

The process

The Process:

01

Discovery call (book here)

We talk through your business, what you need from your website and whether this service is right for you.

02

Proposal and booking

You receive a written proposal setting out the scope, cost and timescale. Once you’re happy, you sign it along with the contract and terms of business.

03

Deposit and onboarding

You pay your 50% non-refundable deposit and we confirm your project start date. I share what I need from you (copy, images, logins, etc. I believe it will take you 4-5 hours to get everything I need together).

04

Strategy and research

We hold your strategy call, then I complete competitor and keyword research and plan the site map.

05

Design and build

I create the design and build your site in WordPress, keeping you in the loop and asking for feedback at agreed stages. I email you every Friday to let you know how the build is going and anything I might need from you the following week.

06

Testing, SEO checks and launch

I test across devices (all websites are responsive), complete on-page SEO, connect GA4 and Search Console, and then launch.

07

Training and handover

I walk you through how to use your site, make day-to-day edits and understand your data.

Investment

Investment:

A Bespoke WordPress website with advanced SEO and AI visibility starts from £4,800.

All websites include my care and maintenance plan at £65 a month. It covers updates and backups, security monitoring and 15 minutes of small content changes each month, so your site keeps working properly long after launch.

What affects the final investment?

Your final quote depends on:

  • Whether this is a new website or a replacement (replacements require careful SEO protection, page mapping and redirects)
  • Number of pages and complexity
  • Content support (copywriting, photography, branding)
  • Integrations (booking systems, memberships, CRMs, course platforms)
  • The depth of SEO research required (multiple services, locations, competitive markets)

There are no hidden costs.

Anything outside the agreed scope is discussed and priced in advance.

How I work

SEO-led websites for established small businesses across the UK, built to look professional, get found, and generate better enquiries.

I’ve built websites for businesses in these sectors:

Retail | Luxury Accommodation | Psychotherapy | Motor Industry | Consulting | Retreats | Wedding | Building | Coaching & Education | Health & Beauty | Ecommerce | Animal & Equine | Artists | Sculptors | Ceramicists | Garden & Interior Design | Care Agencies, and the list keeps growing.

How I work and what makes me different:

  • Strategy comes first, then a build designed to be found and to convert.
  • We start with a strategy call so I understand your business and what success needs to look like for your website.
  • The process is collaborative, and it is led by clear thinking rather than guesswork.
  • SEO and conversion are part of the plan from the start.
  • That means research and a clear structure, so your site gets found and turns visits into enquiries.
  • The finished site looks professional and is easy for you to manage afterwards.
  • I guide you through every stage, so you are never left to work things out on your own.

Melissa went above and beyond to produce a website of the highest standard

The new website visually is absolutely fantastic but more importantly it is user friendly, optimised well and the SEO is already working its magic. Almost instantly I was noticing more enquiries coming through the website.

Craig Williams

Mastercraft Shutters, Sussex

The biggest win from working with Melissa is how this process of reflection on my work and what I am about has improved my confidence.

Working with Melissa was a real pleasure. She totally understood what I was aiming for and the way I wanted my art work to be presented.

Lisa Skelton

Textile Designer, Yorkshire

I’m so pleased I chose Melissa to create my new website. Not only am I delighted with the result, but it was a pleasure to work with her.

I was very nervous about the whole process, but she guided me through it from start to finish, with clarity, insight and expertise. I would absolutely recommend her if you’re thinking about a new website.

A great initial website created by Wildcurrant to start our business a couple of years ago…

We recently updated and expanded the site with Melissa’s help, guidance and savvy advice, and now have more customers and enquiries than ever! It’s definitely working for us.

FAQ

FAQ

What platforms do you build on?

WordPress and Shopify. WordPress suits most small businesses because it is flexible and widely supported, and it gives you full control of your content once the site is handed over. Shopify is the better choice if you are running an online shop and want a platform built for selling. I’ll recommend the right one for you during our first conversation.

How long is the project likely to take?

Between 4 to 6 weeks depending on the size and complexity of the build.

How much time do you need from me?

Once booked into my diary you will receive a link to a Trello board which takes you through, step by step, what I need from you: log in details, images, your website copy etc and I wouldn’t expect this to take you more than 5 hours to get together. I also provide a guide to writing your website copy.

Will my existing Google rankings be protected if I am replacing my current site?

Yes, and this is something I take seriously. Replacing a website without proper planning can wipe out years of Google authority overnight. Before I touch anything, I map your existing pages, identify which ones are ranking or receiving traffic, and put redirects in place so Google follows the new structure without losing what you have already built up. This is included as standard, not an extra.

Do I need to write my own website copy?

You know your business better than anyone, so I will always ask you to provide the words. I give you a copy guide to make it easier, and most clients find it takes around four to five hours in total to pull everything together. If writing is not your strong point or you simply do not have the time, I can bring in a trusted copywriter as an add-on, priced and agreed before anything starts.

What happens after the site goes live?

Launch day is the start of the next stage. In the first few weeks Google indexes your site, your analytics begin to build up data, and we can make early tweaks based on how real visitors use it. After that, the care and maintenance plan at £65 a month keeps everything running securely. I also give you a full training walkthrough so you can make day-to-day updates yourself.

Can I update the site myself once it is built?

Yes. WordPress is designed to be managed by non-technical people and I will walk you through exactly how to make text changes, swap images, and add new content. You also get a bespoke training video to refer back to. If something comes up that feels beyond your comfort zone, your monthly plan includes 15 minutes of small updates each month, and additional support is always available.

Do you guarantee Google rankings?

No, and I would be wary of anyone who does. Nobody outside Google controls its algorithm. What I can promise is that every site I build is researched, structured and optimised to give it the strongest possible chance of ranking well, and my client results back that up. Rankings take time, usually three to six months before you see significant movement, which is why the work is done properly from day one.

Can I start with SEO and add a website later?

You can, but it is worth thinking through first. SEO recommendations often point to changes that need to be made on your site, such as page structure or load speed, so if your current site can’t be updated easily you may hit a ceiling quickly. If you are not ready to invest in a new site yet, an SEO audit is a useful starting point. It will tell you exactly what needs fixing, and you will have a clear brief ready for when you do build.

How is working with me different from hiring an average website designer?

Most website designers build you a good-looking site and hand it over. Whether anyone can find it on Google is left to someone else. You end up paying a web designer, then paying an SEO consultant to fix what should have been built in from the start, which costs more and takes longer to show results.

Every website I build has keyword research, competitor analysis, on-page SEO, and AI search visibility built in from day one. You are not buying a website and SEO separately. You are buying one strategic process that does both at once. That is what the investment reflects, and it is why clients start seeing enquiries come through quickly after launch.

What other services do you offer?

Where helpful, I can bring in trusted collaborators or work with your existing partners on:

  • Copywriting
  • Photography and video
  • Branding and visual identity
  • Email marketing setup and automations
  • Ongoing SEO and Local SEO
  • Google & Meta Advertising

These are costed separately so you only pay for what you need.

Do you work with businesses outside Shropshire?

Yes. Most of my clients are based elsewhere in the UK, and I work remotely with all of them using video calls and shared documents. Location has never got in the way of a well-run project.
