Web Design Case Study: Mastercraft Shutters

CLIENT SNAPSHOT:
Mastercraft Shutters is a West Sussex-based business designing and installing bespoke window shutters in stylish homes across Sussex and Surrey. With a reputation for quality, friendly service, and glowing reviews, they needed a website that could keep up, and convert clicks into paying customers.
They were recommended to me by their Meta Ads Manager, who recognised their existing website was holding back their results and ROI.
THE PROBLEM:
Mastercraft were investing in paid ads, but their old website wasn’t converting. It lacked SEO structure, couldn’t be updated in-house, and wasn’t integrated with essentials like Google Analytics or Search Console.
Without visibility, data, or flexibility, they were missing opportunities and wasting ad spend.
They needed to turn things around quickly.


MY APPROACH:
I began with a full audit of Mastercraft Shutters’ existing website to pinpoint the SEO issues. Unfortunately, without access to Google Analytics or Search Console data, I was missing key insights, tools like these are invaluable when rebuilding a site. So instead, I focused on competitor research and in-depth strategy sessions with the client.
They wanted to keep their existing copy, but improve it for SEO. A task that turned out to be both time-consuming and essential.
Before touching the design, I rewrote and optimised all the website content. This gave me a deeper understanding of their business and the people behind it , and it laid the foundation for everything that followed.
With the content finalised, I turned my attention to structure and UX. I made sure the new site was easy to navigate, conversion-focused, and fully aligned with their goals.
I built the site in WordPress using the Elementor theme, ensuring everything was editable and user-friendly. Thanks to the thorough prep, the build itself ran smoothly from start to finish.

THE TRANSFORMATION
Within days of launch, the results were clear.
