Website Design for a therapist

Cathy is not just a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and trainer with 25 years of experience and expertise in handling intimate relationship abuse, sexual violence, and all forms of harmful behaviours, she is also an Author. Her book, When Love Bites, has garnered immense praise as the ultimate guide for young individuals seeking to escape toxic and hurtful relationships.

THE PROJECT

Cathy runs a programme to help young people get ‘relationship smart’ called Escape The Trap. The website for this had been built by a different designer (see HERE) and she wanted me to build a site for herself that used the same colour palate but needed to appeal to a very different audience.

She also needed the addition of eCommerce so that web visitors could purchase her new book.

I also explained, and illustrated, why strong SEO is a must for all websites these days (well, it always but did you know that less than 10% of all the websites in the world receive organic traffic – ie from Google?)

THE TIMESCALE

There was a huge amount of information to collate for this site and many many, professional images to choose from. 

Keyword research is always my first step and I will spend at least a day on this for each client. The build, once I had all my options in front of me, took around a week, and so plus checks once the site was launched total time on build was probably 2 weeks with the site being live and optimised within a month of commissioning.
