 WEBSITES FAQs

What is the process and how long will it take to get my site live?

Firstly, we arrange a convenient time to speak so that I can get to know what you want and need from a new website and so we can both feel that working with Wildcurrant will be a good fit for us both.

I will then send you a quotation and timescale for the build. If this is acceptable, I will email you a contract that must be signed and returned before I proceed.

Then I will ask you to complete a questionnaire so I can get to know a little more about you and your business and to ensure I have all the telephone numbers, email addresses etc. exactly as they should be.

I will also keep in contact with you throughout the process, to show you designs, ask questions, bounce ideas off you.

Your timely response is appreciated not to hold up the time it takes for your site to go live.

We aim to get your site live within one month. We have created websites within two weeks, and it mostly relies on how quickly you can respond to any queries and the level of demand at the time.

You will not have full access to your website, and it will be live on the Internet once the final payment has cleared.

Will we have a contract?

Yes, I will provide you with a contract that you will need to sign and return, along with a 50% (non refundable) deposit before we start working together.

Can you provide graphic design help?

Yes, Wildcurrant can provide graphic design, for example, a new logo; business cards, marketing collateral etc.

How many revisions can I make during the building process?

On a Done for You basis, where you supply the copy, please ensure that is this your very very final copy as no edit time is factor into the cost of your website.

We love www.Grammarly.com and find it invaluable for checking all the copy that we send out on the Internet.

In terms of the design, you can make up to 4 revisions of the home page before the design is finalised and signed off (at which point 25% of the total becomes due)

Variations, once you have signed off the home page design will be charged at my hourly website rate of £50 per hour.

Can you help me with the copy on my site?

If you choose to go with the Done With You route then yes, Wildcurrant can write your copy at an additional £400 for a 5 page website.

Can you help me with images for my website

We work closely with Mercedes Evans Photography, who can provide you with excellent new images for your Wildcurrant website.

A full days shoot with Mercedes are priced from £599 and you will receive 90 images.

A half-day (which entails Lazer sharp preparation on both of our sides to ensure we make the most of the time) from £299 for which you will receive 30 images.

A shoot such as these will also provide you with excellent images to use within your social media platforms.

If you are supplying images, these images must be owned by yourself and not put us in breach of copyright.
We will not accept any images taken from Google unless you can prove you own the copyright or that they are royalty free.

We suggest www.unsplash.com as a source of copyright free images.

Will my website be connected to Google Analytics and Google Search Console?

Yes, for both of the above you will need a Google account, which you will also need for your Google My Business – see more here – and so long as you are happy to give me the login details the above to Google platforms can be set up and linked to your new website at no extra cost.

Will my website be connected to my Social Media platforms

Yes!

What about Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

When you work with us to create your new website you have peace of mind that all your on-page SEO is applied and correctly formatted before your website goes live using the Yoast SEO plugin.

If you have chosen to go with the Done With You build version (where we help you with your copy) we will also have undertaken keyword research to ensure that Google will be able to find your website.

We will also ensure that your site is fast, all images are optimised and have alt-text again improving your SEO score.

However, as SEO is a fluid and ever-changing discipline we work with some of our larger clients on a retainer basis, doing ongoing work on their SEO every week to ensure they stay as high as possible in the Google rankings to help as many new clients find them as possible. Please see here.

What types of security will be on my website?

Security and backups are critical on your website. Without these being completed and kept updated regularly you are at risk of your site being hacked.

Plugins we install on your site are:

Wordfence Security – Providing you with many security features along with alerts to any suspicious activity on your site

Updraft Plus – A free to use back up plugin that once set up backs up your site automatically

Please note it is YOUR responsibility to update and backup your site (unless you have a monthly maintenance plan) and I do NOT keep any backups of your site if things go wrong.

This is VERY important and if anything does happen and you lose your site you are not entitled to a refund or is it my responsibility.

Do you host the website or do I?

You can host your website via us here at Wildcurrant (see here for more information) or independently wherever you choose.

If the latter is the case, please let us know at the beginning of our conversation.

Hosting the site elsewhere means that once completed and with the final balanced paid I will email you your new website files and the process to send the site live will then be down to you and your choice of hosting company.

What kind of support can I expect after the site is launched?

We will provide you with free email support for one week once the website is live –  for anything you are not sure on or if something goes wrong,  if you are hosting your website with us.

Will I have full access to the site once it is launched?

Yes! I will send you an email with your login details and the next steps to take to drive traffic to your website.
